faithful family packages

Come, there is work to be done. . .

God has a special need for each one of us in His vineyard. Our place in His vineyard during these next several weeks is participating in our parish-wide stewardship project of supporting Packages From Home. Packages From Home is a Phoenix based, grass roots 501(c)(3) whose sole purpose is to provide food, personal care, and recreational items to deployed American troops, at no cost to them. Since March 2005 they have averaged 1,000 to 1,500 packages a month being shipped to our heroes.

Volunteers distributed shopping bags with a label listing items most in need by our troops. Parishioners are asked to fill the bags and return them to the stewardship tent outside the main doors of church beginning the weekend of October 11 & 12 and continuing through November 2nd. All donations will be packaged and prepared for shipping at the Packages From Home offices in November. Monetary donations to defray the cost of shipping are also welcome.

Please be generous in helping us to help those who truly understand what it means to serve.
