More about Fr. Doug

Fr. Doug is a former Episcopal Priest who converted to the Catholic Church with his wife and four children in 1979. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Catholic Church by Bishop Thomas O'Brien in 1984 and served as a teacher at St. Marks in Phoenix and Seton High School in Chandler during the years after converting. He was then Administrator of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Queen Creek for a number of years, and Pastor of St. Thomas Byzantine Parish in Gilbert. After that he served as Pastor of St. Anne's in Gilbert for 14 years and has been Pastor at St. Maria Goretti since July, 2006.

Adult Formation

18 years and Older

Many opportunities for adult formation are scheduled through the year. Baptism preparation classes, Marriage preparation classes, Wednesday morning Bible Study, Called to Protect training, Catechist certification classes, Sacrament preparation and Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) sessions for adults are offered.

Women's Christian Bible Fellowship is a Prayer/Bible Study, dedicated to glorifying God by bringing women into a more intimate relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior through the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Prayer and praise, meditation, study of Scriptures and loving fellowship. This group is open to all women who want to learn more about scripture and who want to share their faith with other women. We are presently studying the Gospel of Luke. You just need to bring a bible. Workbooks are provided. Groups will meet every other week Monday Evenings – 7:00 to 8:30 pm OR Tuesday Mornings – 9:00 to 10:30 am. Refer to the calendar on the home page for meeting dates.
